John S.H. Fogg autograph collection, ca. 1492-1881.

Autograph collection of documents and letters which include signatures by kings and queens, royal governors, Revolutionary War generals, signers of the Declaration of Independence, United States presidents and vice presidents, religious leaders, literary figures, etc. More specifically, this collection includes documents and letters signed by Ferdinand and Isabella in 1492, by reigning monarchs of England beginning with Henry VII to Queen Victoria, complete collections of autographs representing all the royal governors of the thirteen colonies, the thirty-eight major generals of the Revolution, a complete set of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, the members of the Annapolis Convention of 1786 and the members of the Hartford Convention, a complete collection of presidential autographs and vice presidential autographs through Grover Cleveland, and a nearly complete collection of autographs of the First Ladies. Hundreds of other important letters and documents signed by such notables as John Calvin, Sir Walter Raleigh, Sir Francis Drake, William Blake, William Wordsworth, and others.
